Manager's Mindset
I’ve had many managers during the past decade. Some of them have enabled a safe and supportive environment. And others haven’t.
I realized one day that there’s at least one nominator that is common to people who have relied more on micromanaging and not being able to create safe and supportive environment.
It’s how they see failure in work being more people driven than systems driven.
Most supportive managers I’ve had, have never blamed anyone when things go in ways that we didn’t want them to go. Instead they gather data, reflect on what happened and find ways to improve.
Less supporting ones have found people to blame on and increased their level of micromanaging.
